Standard 2877, and involve cars tested in a laboratory situation.
City Cycle - This involves a stop and go
trip of 12km distance with an average speed of 32 km/h. It includes a cold start, a
warm start, and idle time.
Highway Cycle - This involves a 16.48km
trip at an average speed of 77 km/h. The car is started from warm and this test
involves no stopping until the end.

According to a study, in real life drivers consume 15%
more fuel in city driving, and 34% more fuel on highway driving, than the official figures
