Air filter     It is the cheapest and easiest to do. The logic of the event is to enable the engine to get fresh air more easily. Normal, standard air filters are made of a papery substance and are located in a box attached to the engine unit. This box draws air from the front of the car through a pipe, and this air passes through the paper filter into the cylinders, into the combustion chamber.        The resistance applied during the passage of air through the filter directly affects the air entering the engine. For this, performance type air filters have been produced. In addition to holding dirty air like paper filters, these filters make the engine breathe easier because they pass air through paper filters more easily. These filters are also of three types. 1 In-Box Filter: These types of filters are removed from normal paper air filters and placed in their old places. They are the same type and size as paper filters.      2 Open Filter: This filter is connected to the air inlet of the engine by removing the box that we just mentioned and the pipe that allows it to breathe. Thus, resistance is reduced and air suction is easier.      3 Bolt-On Open Filter: This filter type is counted as the version of the direct filter applied to injection cars for carburetor vehicles. But unlike them, the air is mounted not on the end of the suction pipe, but directly above the throttle.      Points to consider in practice:      There is a point to be considered in open filter applications. This is that the air entering the engine should not be hot. If no air intake support is provided to the open air filter, the filter will absorb the heated air under the hood, which will degrade engine performance.      The best performer of such applications is to cut the bonnet directly. If a hole is opened on the bonnet, like the Subaru Impreza, with the air filter in the mouth, it will be able to provide a significant improvement in performance by taking the air filter comfortably through this hole. If you do not want to, either for the open filter, you will direct clean, cool air to the open filter through a sufficiently large pipe somewhere in front of the car, or use an in-box filter. However, in-box filters do not contribute as much as an open filter, which is well-applied to performance. In addition, open filters produce a louder and sportier sound than in-box filters.      Advantages, disadvantages      Let's say this when the subject is opened, the only drawback of performance type filters is that they make too much noise. If you are a sporty-hearted person, you will like this sound too much, but it can be a bit challenging on long roads or when your dad gets on the car.      The advantages of the open filter do not end with counting. They increase performance, reduce fuel consumption, increase engine torque at every revolution. Yes, a good open filter application increases the engine power by about 5%, besides, it provides a fuel consumption of around 0.5lt per 100km and also makes the engine more powerful at low revs than before.      When it comes to air filters, the first brand that comes to mind is K&N, besides, there are many brands such as EAFY as Turkish production and Green, Jamex, ITG, RAMAIR in other foreign filters. EAFY, RAMAIR and ITG are the highest performing filters in a test performed by the auto show magazine as performance. Also, since EAFY is a Turkish brand, it has an obvious price advantage.

Unlike the original paper filters in automobiles, these filters are made of two different materials: Sunger and oil cotton-wire mixture (cotton). Since Sungel filters have more permeability, more performance is obtained. However, these filters have a higher risk of dust. If they filter the fat cotton-wire mixture, they can hold the dust better because they contain oil. Of course, their permeability is not as high as the sunger. Filters can be applied to the car in two ways; Open and In-Box. In-box filters are added to the original filter housing of the car to provide more permeability. Open filters are connected to the intake manifold with the help of an apparatus. All the in-box and open oil filters can be cleaned and reused periodically.

Especially in open-type filters, a certain power increase can be provided according to the engine volume of the car and the structure of the original air filter. In the original filter system of the car, the speed and density of the lost air flow becomes more effective thanks to the open type filters, and since the amount of air entering the combustion chamber is more, the combustion is also more severe and thus a certain strength enhancer is obtained.

The theory here is that the more air you send to the combustion chamber inside the cylinders to be mixed with fuel, the more power you get, but the question is how you send this air first, and secondly whether you can actually send more air. Air aerodynamics is so complicated that it is impossible to know how much more air you will get when you replace your car's original air filter with an open sports air filter.
When a direct performance air filter is installed in a vehicle, a slight increase in performance can be felt. But above all, the sound it makes is of course very beautiful. It is already over in the sound. In other words, this filter allows the engine to breathe easily, relaxes the engine, but affects the power by 5% max. (Max. 3 or 4 hp).
This does not contribute to acceleration of 0-100. In this context, the performance is not a filter wizard. You get the sound when the base gases. In this case, by trying not to hear the sound (ie without making the base gas), it allows you to contribute to your gas saving. This sound is a kind of stimulant. If the filter absorbs hot air under the bonnet, its performance will degrade. You can solve this problem by providing cool and fresh air inlet with a temperature-resistant accordion ventilation pipe from the bottom. Thus, the oncoming cold air meets directly with the filter. (In order not to reduce the noise of the filter, the mouth of the pipe should not get too close to the filter)

The disadvantage is that it brings the dust in the environment together with the air and it can disrupt the car's handling (by introducing too much air under the hood at high speeds).
