In diesel engines, the combustion event is a complex event that starts with spraying and occurs under the collective influence of many parameters and in reality continues even partially in the exhaust. Combustion occurs in three stages. These; ignition delay, sudden combustion and controlled combustion phases. The beginning of the combustion event in diesel engines is provided by self-ignition. When a reactive mixture reaches a certain pressure and temperature and is kept under these conditions, it can ignite itself after a while. Diesel engines have a preheating system that will make it easier to work in cold weather conditions. Pre heating; As a result of the good starting characteristics of the direct injection engine, it is only required at temperatures below + 9 ° C. The control unit receives the temperature signal from the coolant temperature sensor. The preheating time depends on the level of this received temperature signal. The heater / glow plugs placed in the instrument panel are informed by the warning light that the preheating is working. Normal spark plug heating; Normal heating is followed by preheating after the engine has started. In this way, a more efficient combustion is ensured immediately after the engine starts, engine noise is reduced, idling quality is improved and hydrocarbon emissions are reduced. Regardless of preheating, normal heating is always done. Normal spark plug heating is interrupted when the engine speed reaches 2500 rpm and continues for a maximum of 4 minutes. The essence of the word: First of all, diesel engines are preheated. After the engine starts, normal heating operation is activated. While preheating facilitates the operation of the engine, normal heating operation; it continues for a while for effective combustion, engine noise reduction, idling and hydrocarbon emissions reduction.
