How does HDi technology work? The injectors, which are controlled electronically, are connected to a common fuel supply path, which is kept under high pressure (1350 bar). A very sensitive electronic brain specific to the common fuel system monitors many parameters, including engine temperature, air temperature, atmospheric air pressure, and even the position of the accelerator pedal. Considering these factors, the electronic brain regulates processes such as fuel supply, injection pressure and the speed of fuel injection into the cylinder of the car. The injectors have variable control heads that allow a precisely specified amount of fuel to be sprayed into each cylinder. In addition, the electronic brain ensures that fuel is injected into the cylinders at the right time. The amount of fuel sprayed and the spray time are adjusted independently of the spray pressure and the cycle of the engine. Parsing these functions: Preliminary or pilot spraying is carried out in a certain amount and time, and consequently reducing engine noise and the amount of crushed gases discharged by the engine, It allows the main spraying to be adjusted according to the spark of ignition and the required power output. Fuel Consumption and Torque Information Fuel consumption and torque information of some HDi models are given below. Model Fuel Consumption (lt / 100km) Out of City / Inner City / Mixed 206 1.4 HDi 70 hp ------------------- 3.6 --- / 5.5 ---- / 4.3 307 1.6 HDi 90 hp ------------------- 4.3 --- / 6.1 ---- / 4.9 407 1.6 HDi 110 hp ------------------ 4.6 --- / 7.0 ---- / 5.5 HDi: Economic usage and maintenance costs… HDi engine provides 20% fuel economy compared to previous generation diesel engines. In addition, periodic maintenance intervals and costs are lower than previous generation diesel engines. This excellent economy is the result of three important ecological innovations. Common fuel path system ... The common fuel rail system developed in conjunction with Bosch uses a high pressure pump (1350 bar). The amount of fuel sprayed on the cylinders can be adjusted precisely thanks to the electronic brain. Small diameter nozzles in the nozzles ensure that the fuel is completely evaporated before it burns. Specially designed combustion chamber ... The combustion chamber is designed to ensure perfect air circulation and guarantees an ideal fuel-air mixture. This feature contributes to the almost complete combustion of the fuel-air mixture and provides a very high efficiency. New type of engine oil ... The HDi engine uses a new type of engine oil to provide high economy. HDi: Respect for the environment ... HDi technology and especially "pilot spraying" feature provides more efficient combustion and burning of fuel completely. This means reduction of exhaust gases. Compared to normal standards, HDi engine provides 20% reduction in greenhouse gases (CO2), 50% harmful gases and 50% soot particles. The HDi engine contributes to the protection of the environment. |
