M category vehicles: At least four wheeled, motor vehicles for passenger transport.
Vehicles of category M1: These are motor vehicles for passenger transport, with a maximum of eight seats outside the driver.
M2 category vehicles : These are motor vehicles with more than eight seats outside the driver, intended for carrying passengers and whose maximum mass does not exceed 5 tons.
M3 category vehicles: These are motor vehicles with more than eight seats outside the driver, intended for carrying passengers and exceeding the maximum mass of 5 tons.

I guess there is no difference between m and m1.
