TL;DR : The starter motor does not engage at all. Only the relay sound (one click) is heard when the ignition is turned. The starter and coals were replaced with the original ones, costing 650 TL including labor. Introduction I am Ömer from Bursa. I am a Peugeot 207 1.4 HDI 2009 user for 3 years. This is my first vehicle and we came from 132 thousand to 170 thousand together with him. I am actually very satisfied with my vehicle, it is both economical and has good traction. It hasn't given me any problems so far. This is the second time it has let me down. In the first, the vehicle did not start because the valve in the fuel hoses malfunctioned and leaked the fuel back. It was a malfunction 2 years ago, approximately. Development This time, the starter motor sometimes doesn't work at all during the last 2 weeks in my vehicle. This problem started a few days after I did the oil change. During the oil change, the terminal of the battery was disconnected for 45 minutes. In the non-working problem, there is usually only one click and no other reaction. Sometimes this problem happens, sometimes it doesn't. In some trials, the starter motor works for 1 - 1.5 seconds, but the starter motor stops before the engine starts. Until today (in the last two weeks), it always worked sometimes on one (without difficulty), sometimes on the second or third try. I checked the battery terminals today, thinking that the problem might be with the battery terminals, they are both clean. Before I went out in the evening, I tried to start the vehicle to make sure it was running, it worked very comfortably in one go and I ran it for 10 minutes while checking the fault codes. There was no fault code associated with it. I stopped the engine and after 20 minutes, when I tried to start the car, I saw the message "plip battery spent" and even though I tried many times, tried with the spare key, disconnected the battery pole and waited for 5 minutes and tried again, I only heard a click and "plip I see the "battery spent" warning every time, the car does not start, the starter motor does not turn at all. I tried disassembling and plugging the battery terminal again, but in vain. At this point, I no longer hear the clicking sound when I try to run it. Since I tried for a long time, the vehicle entered the economy mode and I cannot get it out of the economy mode as I cannot start the vehicle. However, after removing and plugging the battery terminals to close the windows, I heard a clicking sound, when I enter the economy mode, there is no clicking sound, only a very faint whistling sound for 1 second when I press the starter. . I see the battery voltage as 12.4-12.5 via OBD. The battery is Varta brand and is 3 - 3.5 years old. According to my research, I think there are 4 options, it's about the source of the problem. The easiest ones are to check the fuses, replace the remote battery, battery boost, and finally if I can't solve the problem, click the starter a few times with a hard object like a wrench or while the vehicle is in gear very little I will move it (they recommend this method and hitting the starter with a hard object if the starter is running out of coals) and try to start it again. If I come to the reason why I opened this topic here,
Thank you in advance for your answers. /div> If I can pinpoint the source of the problem, I plan to even do it myself according to the amount of expense and difficulty and share the developments here to help those who have similar problems. div> Result I tried things I could do myself. I tried changing the remote battery, cleaning the battery terminals, checking the fuses and moving the car a little while in gear and starting it. However, I did not get any results. If the problem was the starter brushes, I think it would work. I took the vehicle to the master. The problem was caused by a short circuit of the starter, so he blew his fuse. The coals were close to being finished, too, and they changed. The starter is original, the coals have been changed to valeo brand. The process took about 3 hours due to the intensity. It normally takes 1.5 - 2 hours. Costs div> Starter automatic (original) 400 Coals (valeo) 100 Workmanship 150 Total 650 liras < /div> |

Dude, first of all, I didn't read the whole article, but the problem you wrote at the beginning is if the battery is good, the starter will change, I had no problem.

Thank you for your answer. Tried things I could do myself. I tried changing the remote battery, cleaning the battery terminals, checking the fuses and moving the car a little while in gear and starting it. However, I did not get any results. If the problem was the starter brushes, I think it would work. Tomorrow morning I'm going to shoot the car and take it to the master. How much did your automatic starter replacement cost and when did you do this?

Symptoms are similar to my malfunction. On the battery, there is a window with a diameter of 2 cm or something round. If you see a green light when you look inside from there, the problem is not with the battery, the vehicle will protect the battery after a period of 30 minutes or so, so the windows will not work, etc. Show a tool to the starter master. I think that's the problem, they understand the problem in 2 minutes, and they give you a price or direct you to another place. Also, I fired the tool to take it to the master. Even if the starter motor is faulty, it works by knocking.
