Hi everyone, I just bought my new car 2 months ago, a 1999 MK1 406. I'm very happy with it, it's a very good car, but the first week I bought it, I had it serviced with a complete oil, water, filter, radiator, V-belt tensioner pulley. The first belt I bought broke before leaving the shop. I then bought another belt, which lasted 3 days before breaking. I then went to another mechanic and bought another tensioner pulley from a parts store just in case, but there was no difference between it and the first one. This mechanic installed the old belt, made a few adjustments, and I've been using it for a month and a half. This morning, while it didn't completely break, it broke again at the edge. The belt will definitely break completely in a few days, which is why it took so long. My question is, how do I find a solution? Thanks in advance for your help.
