Tips for driving in foggy weather Clean your headlights and stop lamps thoroughly. Turn on your headlights and front fog lights. One of the mistakes made while driving in the fog is the burning of high beam headlights. When the high beam headlamps are turned on, the front fog zone will come as a wall of light and block the vision. Another mistake that drivers do in foggy weather is that all headlights are turned off and only the front fog lamps are turned on. This will prevent the oncoming drivers from fully seeing the vehicle's dimensions and cause accidents. Do not burn your hazard warning flashers while in motion. Another mistake made by the drivers while driving in the fog is the burning of the four flasher to be seen. The four-way flashers should be lit only in case of danger and when the vehicle stops. Increase your tracking distance. It is also necessary to pay attention to the follow-up distance when using vehicles in the fog. Because fog consists of water vapor, it will wet the road. Therefore, the braking distance will be longer than on dry ground. A vehicle traveling at a speed of 100 km / h on normal ground stops at 44-50 meters when braking, while in the fog this distance can be up to 100 meters. In foggy weather, more distance than normal should be left with the vehicle in front. For example, a vehicle traveling at a speed of 60 km / sec should leave a distance of 60 meters from the vehicles in front. Follow the roadside signs, not the road lines. Faded road lines may mislead you and cause hazards. No matter how cold the weather is, open the car's window. Thus, you can easily hear the audible warnings of other vehicles. In addition, fog will be prevented in the internal windows. Never overtake when driving in the fog. Because the visibility distance and the speed will decrease in the foggy weather, the possibility of coming to the nose with the vehicle opposite will increase. However, if overtaking is still required, the necessary warning should be made with light and horn. If it is necessary to stop at the roadside due to any problems in foggy weather, four-way flashers should be burned and a reflector should be placed 100 meters from the vehicle to identify the drivers coming from behind. it will also prevent pedestrians from being seen on the roads. Therefore, in foggy weather, especially on city roads, you should go slowly, you should definitely stop at intersections and move after making sure that nobody comes. In foggy weather, it is beneficial for pedestrians to wear phosphorous clothes that can be easily seen from afar.
