total engine oil

I've been using only total 5w40 oil for my 1.6 petrol 207 vehicle for 4 years. I went again today and they didn't have it. I went to another total gas station and they weren't there either. Do you mind if I put 5w40 oil of another brand (shell, castrol etc)? Where else is there that sells total oil?

Why would it be a problem, I always use Castrol. Total and Peugeot offer because it's an agreement. It's important not to fake it. Fake oil goes as far as eating the engine.
