I'm confused obviously. Isn't 60,000km too early for a timing belt change? 180.000km is mentioned in 1.6HDI engines. I don't want to have my car tampered with when there is no problem.

What do you know about this? Have you had a free timing belt change at 60.000km?

60 thousand is early in my opinion, usually 90 thousand or 5 years is recommended for the first change

why is it free? I have never seen a tradesman doing anything for free in my life. there is a mess. If I were you, I wouldn't mess with it.

Some models have a manufacturing defect in the timing belt. So they call back for free. I think you should change it as soon as possible. Otherwise, it is no different from a bomb with the pin pulled. I think replace it as soon as possible, it's already free.
