Peugeot's 1.6 THP (Turbo High Pressure), which is used in 207, 207 RC and 207 CC models, was awarded the "2007 International Engine of the Year Awards" with its 175 hp direct injection engine. Our models equipped with THP engine, which offers an enormous performance with instant acceleration, flexibility and reasonable fuel consumption, are waiting for you at our dealers.

What is THP?
This new, high pressure direct injection 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine called THP (Turbo High Pressure) not only prevents excessive fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, but also promises driving pleasure specific to engines with higher cylinder volumes. PSA Peugeot Citroën and BMW Group, the first fruit of the cooperation, this 1.6-liter gasoline engine was used for the first time on the 3-door Peugeot 207 GT.

This engine produces 156 Nm of torque at a low speed of just 1 000 rpm. For a maximum torque of 240 Nm, it is sufficient to reach only 1 400 rpm and this value does not change up to 3 500 rpm. In addition, since the torque at 5 000 rpm is still 208 Nm, this gives the driver a more flexible use in this range.

While designing this engine, which is the product of PSA and BMW cooperation and manufactured in PSA's factory in Douvrin, France, the following basic objectives were taken into consideration:

• Achieve power values comparable to engines operating at 2.0 liters of atmospheric pressure
• Increasing the flexibility of use by obtaining high torque at low revs
• Providing low fuel consumption and low emission values
• To realize a compact and lightweight design that can be placed in small vehicles

The purpose of all these basic features; 207 is to offer its customers a new sporty version that is even more enjoyable and performance by optimizing the usage costs.
