The thermostat either stays open in case of failure or stays closed all the time.
If it stays on, the temperature rises late. Coolant passes quickly to the radiator, so it heats up late. Since it reaches the desired temperature late, the vehicle burns a lot. The heater heats less. Touch the radiator before the engine temperature reaches 85 degrees to understand. If the radiator is hot, the thermostat is faulty. If it remains closed, the temperature will increase. Since water does not go to the radiator, even if the fan works, it does not benefit the vehicle. To understand, touch the radiator around 90° engine temperature, if the radiator is cold, the thermostat is closed. Early or if it opens late, it is more difficult to detect.

or a 2nd method. When the engine temperature is 0. Remove the thin hose that goes into the expansion tank and hold it up, start the car and wait for the engine temperature to exceed 85 degrees. When it exceeds 85 degrees, the water should circulate. So water has to come from that hose. |
