VALVE ADJUSTMENT AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE
Requirement and Importance:
As the engine gets hot, the parts in the valve system become hot, just like all other parts. The lengthening that occurs in the heated parts causes the valves to remain open. it cannot cool down and burns.

Because the valves cool down by giving 75% of the temperature to the seat, and 25% of the temperature from the valve stem to the valve guide. Also, the valve that cannot sit in the seat will miss the compression. It also causes the engine power to drop.
If the amount of space given is too much, the valves are both delayed to open and cannot be opened sufficiently. In this case, since sufficient mixture cannot be taken into the cylinder, engine power decreases and fuel consumption increases.
Also, valve parts in the valve system will cause pulsing and excessive valve noise.
Valve handle for comfortable operation of the valves at all times. Expansion is given between the part that moves the valve and the valve. When the engine reaches operating temperature, this gap is closed by the expansion of the parts. This millimeter clearance adjustment is called valve adjustment. Valve adjustment values differ for each vehicle.
Adjustment values are specified in the vehicle catalog. Valve adjustment values are specified separately when the engine is hot and the engine is cold.
Intake and exhaust specified in the catalog The set values for the valves are specified separately in hot and cold engines. Valve adjustment is made with the adjustment screw on the pusher or rocker lever, and the adjustment shims if there is no adjustment screw.
WARNING: VALVE ADJUSTMENT IS A SET THAT REQUIRES VERY FINE, PRECISE AND MASTERY.
VALVE ADJUSTMENT:
Valve adjustment of your vehicle It is vital for the engine. First, let's look at whether your engine needs valve adjustment. If the valve sound (heard in the form of chic, it sounds two metal sounds, one hitting someone very fast), your engine does not pull, if it burns too much, your valve setting may be loose. Your valve adjustment may be tight if your engine is forced to act as if you are pulling the gas, as if someone is pulling back, does not eat gas, burns too much and does not accelerate, if you release it while in downhill gear, it accelerates less than it should and if it works hard in the morning.
Valve Setting Values:
The valve set value for each engine is different for each engine. It is stated in the catalog of your vehicle. If you cannot reach your catalog or if the valve setting values are not specified, you can learn the values from your vehicle service or your master. These values are different for cold engine and hot engine. The reason for the difference is the expansion of the valve due to heat. If you are going to adjust the cold valve, leave your vehicle to cool down the night before and start the cool adjustment the next morning without starting it. We recommend cold valve adjustment for those who are not used to the work. Also confirm the engine ignition sequence. Usually this is 1-3 in row firing engines; It is 4-2. In this order of engine running (we assume that the engine has 8 valves) 1st valve exhaust, 2-3. valve suction, 4-5. valve exhaust, 6-7. valve suction, 8. valve will be exhaust valve (it is useful to confirm as there may be differences between engines).
WARNING: VALVE ADJUSTMENT IS A SET THAT REQUIRES VERY THIN, PRECISION AND MASTERY.
VALVE ADJUSTMENT;
For front wheel drive vehicles Raise the front wheel of your vehicle and shift your gear to 5th gear and pull your handbrake. Then open the bonnet and remove the curb cap. The shaft mechanism that moves the valves and the valves we call piano is behind this cover.

We have mentioned the working order of our engine above. According to this order, we will make the adjustment by applying the rule called 9 rule. 1. valve exhaust in the engine we handle, 2. valve suction, 3. valve suction, 4. valve exhaust, 5. valve exhaust, 6. valve suction, 7. valve intake and 8th valve exhaust. Now, by turning the wheel, we will move the valves, our eyes will be on the 1st and 2nd valves. When the 1st and 2nd valves are at the top point (called the thrust point. At this point, when you lightly turn the wheel to the right or left, it will move in two valves. Release the wheel at the top point of the two valves). For the 7th valve we will look at the 2nd valve.
1. and we brought the 2nd valves to the thrust point. Both are right at the peak. We will adjust the 8th valve (exhaust) and 7th valve (intake). We will hold the nut shown in the picture with a wrench and loosen it and tighten the screw on it with a screwdriver or loosen it. We will select the appropriate size of the synthesis from our flywheel and bring it to the valve cavity. The flywheel should pass at a consistency like a knife gives when cutting margarine. So sweet should go hard. More comfortable passages indicate emptiness and harder passages indicate tightness. After obtaining the proper gap with the screwdriver, we can now tighten the nut of the screw. We will tighten the nut with the wrench while holding the screw with the screwdriver so that the screw does not move when tightening the nut. After taking a final test measurement, we will adjust the 7th valve (suction). Now we will move the wheel again to bring the 3rd and 4th valves to the point of loading. The 3rd and 4th valves will both be at the full peak. Now we can adjust the 5th (exhaust) and 6th (intake) valves in the same way. In turn, we turn the wheel to the 5th and 6th valves to the riding point again, and this time we perform the same operations for the 4th (exhaust) and 3rd (suction) valves (we choose the valve that completes 9). Now, in the setting of the 1st (exhaust) and 2. (intake) valves, we turn the wheel to bring the 7th and 8th valves to the thrust point and adjust the 1 and 2 valves.
Our valve adjustment process is finished. Now we can start the engine. We start the engine without closing the curb cover and check if there is a valve (a stylish chic sound). If there is an abnormal sound or condition, we check our setting. If the valve noise is heard even though the adjustment values are normal, there may be wear or chips on the valve heads. We can remove the valve adjustment screw and fix the shape with a sandpaper or nail file.

Important NOTE: Never remove the piano, torque wrench is required for piano assembly. Cover the valve gaps with a machete or newspaper to avoid dropping any material into the piston while working. There is no need to lift both wheels with the jack. Due to the differential, it is sufficient to lift the wheel one by one.
Valves with hydraulic pusher are not adjusted. Hydraulic thrusters operate with oil pressure and make the adjustment. The engines with hydraulic thrusters should be careful to ensure that the oil is clean and the oil level is at normal values.
