speedometer

Hello, the speedometer of my vehicle does not exceed 60 km / h. what could this be faulty and is it costly?

I have a 206 automatic, a 2000 model, and it has a problem with the speed sensor on the transmission. They made the part that connects to the gears plastic. Every other time, the plastic that connects to the gears breaks, and the mph + speedometer doesn't work. It fixes itself by paying 150 lira for a replacement. Yours might be the same.
