I recommend calling Peugeot headquarters and inquiring about this issue. If you've had this happen before, I suggest you request a free replacement and have it inspected at another service center.

I contacted Peugeot Turkey Customer Service, and the response I received was, "Free replacements are not possible because the warranty has expired." When I requested this response in writing, they refused. However, I believe that for such "defective manufacturing/faulty" parts, the warranty period or mileage of the car shouldn't matter. Furthermore, forums mention that this defect was a chronic problem in 2014 and 2015 production models, and that free replacements were offered.
