Hello everyone, I have a 308 1.6 e-HDI 2013 model car. I am very happy with my car, but I recently encountered a problem. When my car is stopped with start stop activated, it stalls, and when I take my foot off the brake, it doesn't start again. All the lights come on and then it doesn't work. I have to turn it off and on again. I took it to PAX auto service in İkitelli, Istanbul. A lot of parts were changed there for major maintenance. When I went to pick the car up from there, I noticed this problem. There was no such problem before. They looked for days and couldn't find it. I took it to other places, some said it was the battery. But others say the battery is good. Some say it's the alternator. Some say it's not. I'm about to lose my mind. I don't want to disable start stop because I have both eco mode and start stop combined. It will both increase fuel consumption and disable the car's features. I went somewhere 2 days ago and they said the battery was flat again. I bought a brand new AGM 70 battery. Someone please help me, I'm about to lose my mind. Regards.

Hello, sir. This after-service behavior appears to be a workmanship issue. Repairmen often leave the vehicle to journeymen or apprentices when they assemble it and don't check it. Start-stop system problems usually stem from issues with the battery (which you've already replaced), alternator voltage issues, alternator tensioner bearing and belt, connectors and cables, and finally, the start-stop computer. Did the service center you visited check it with the original software? If there's a problem like this, the error code should disappear. If you were in Ankara, I would recommend a repairman.

A few mechanics mentioned the alternator. They said there was a problem with the regulator outside the alternator. The regulator isn't sold separately and can't be repaired. The entire alternator needs to be replaced. That costs around 16-17 thousand TL. If I knew it would fix the problem, I'd pay the money, but they say this: If it shows up after the replacement and it doesn't fix itself, the ECU will need to be replaced. That costs between 35 and 40 lira. I took my car to a ECU repairman today to have the Start-Stop feature disabled.

Did you check the brake switch? It might get stuck when you take your foot off the brake. [QUOTE=mebece]A few mechanics mentioned the alternator. Sir, the circuit breaker is repairable. Of course, not everyone can do it.
