Hello everyone, on Thursday last week in my Peugeot 307 1.6XT automatic 2002 model car, I got an automatic gear fault error. It had given a few times before, but it was fixed when I turned the ignition off and on. On Thursday, it started giving a warning very frequently and was locking the car in 3rd gear. When I showed it to the mechanic, he said it could be the solenoid valve or the brain. Since I did not have the budget to have it done, I decided to use it like this for a few days. I used the car on Friday, but I was having difficulty on hills. I was turning the ignition on and off and then continuing. When I had difficulty, a smell like gasoline smell was coming inside. I went up the hill with the car and then I parked the car, it was on a little slope. When I started it in the morning, the car did not seem to be in neutral. It went into triptonic but seemed to be in neutral when I pressed the gas and then the error occurred again. I had the car towed in front of my house when I checked it a day or two later, the car went albeit slightly and I could tell it was shifting gears in triptonic. What do you think the problem is caused by, mechanic, the transmission says it is thinner? If anyone has any information, could you please write, thank you very much in advance.
