I'm thinking of changing the brake discs of my 2004 model Peugeot 307 1.4 hdi vehicle. First I thought of buying a sports brake disc, then I thought of enlarging the discs as much as possible. I searched on the internet. but I couldn't find a very healthy answer. If I install 283 mm brake discs of the 1.6 hdi model on my 1.4 hdi vehicle, do I need to replace the brake calipers? The reason why this question came to my mind was this. When looking for spare parts as brake caliper, separate brake caliper for 1.4 and 1.6 is not available. If I can make such an upgrade without changing the calipers, I would like to do this. I am looking for help from friends who have experience or knowledge. Thanks in advance.

1.4 1.6 discs are the same, no difference. Even though it is a 2.0 engine, the disc pad is the same. Although it seems that there are differences in the part codes, it is the same in gasoline and diesel in compatible models.

There is a size difference between the brake discs in mm, does this cause me to change the calipers, this is what I wanted to ask. The disc diameter for the 1.4 hdi is 266 mm, for the 1.6 hdi there is information as 283 mm for the large disc brake. Does the caliper need to be replaced when a 283mm disc is installed?
