My car is a 2004 307 1.4hdi XR. When I first bought it in June 2021, I changed the timing belt and water pump. At that time, it was at 220xxx km. Now it is at 276xxx km. Is the timing belt's lifespan expired or at what mileage should I have it checked? Footnote. 2-3 thousand km after I bought my car, the piston bent due to overheating and I had the engine rebuilt. Since I lost the paperwork of the work done, I don't know exactly what changed. But at that time, I spent close to the price of a brand new engine. I'm sure the injectors were changed. In light of this information, my second question is, while driving, my car makes a clicking noise similar to an as250 Dodge, like birds chirping. It usually stops when the turbo is activated below 2 thousand rpm. Could it be injector rattling? This sound does not occur when I give gas at idle, it usually occurs when I am cruising below 2000. I have asked several mechanics how the sound is different at every maintenance and if there is any abnormal noise, they say the engine is like a flower. I also asked 3 mechanics from 3 cities. But it seems to me that the engine is louder and more stylish than when I first had it done, or am I just making empty delusions.
