peugeot 206 xs valve?

hello guys i have a question i just bought peugeot 206 xs 2000 model how can i tell if this vehicle is 16 or 8 valves? Overall it was 8 valves, but the friend I bought the vehicle said has 16 valves. thank you.

In December 2000, the 1.6-liter 90-HP 8-valve engine was replaced by the 1.6-liter 110-HP 16-valve engine developed by the PSA Group, formed by Peugeot and Citroen. The 206's five-door XT, three-door XS and the specially equipped Roland Garros versions are now available with a new 16-valve engine.

With the improvements made in the top cover of the 8 valve and 90 HP engine, 110 HP power at 5800 rpm and 144 Nm torque at 4000 rpm are produced. The old 1.6-liter 8-valve engine produced 90 HP power at 5600 rpm and 135 Nm torque at 3000 rpm. As can be seen, after the development works, an increase of 20 HP in maximum power and 9 Nm in torque was achieved.

In the first acceleration disciplines of our test, 206 offered more successful values than before with its new engine. Performing 0-100 km / h acceleration in 9.6 seconds as in factory data, 206 was 1.6 seconds faster than before (11.2 seconds). The superiority of the new engine also manifested itself at acceleration of 0-400 meters, where we measured 16.9 seconds. The old engine 206 had completed 0-400 acceleration in 17.5 seconds. Intermediate acceleration. There is no significant difference in the measurements. With the new engine 206, we gained 10.1 in fourth gear and 14.4 s in fifth gear in 60-100 km / h intermediate acceleration measurement. In the eight-valve engine, the winner of this discipline, the values were 9.8 and 12.2 seconds. In the 90-120 km / h intermediate acceleration discipline, we obtained 8.5 seconds in fourth gear and 11.8 seconds in fifth gear. With the old engine, these values were 9.3 and 11.3 seconds. Another difference between the two engines is that the 16-valve version can reach the maximum speed of 198 km / h. The eight-valve engine could only accelerate the vehicle to 185 km / h. Consuming an average of 8.1 liters of fuel per 100 km during the test, 206 can reach a range of 617 km with a 50-liter tank capacity. The old 8-valve 1.6-liter 90 HP engine consumed 206, 9.2 liters of fuel, and its range was 543 km.

1.6 significantly shortened the stopping distance of 16V. We measured the stopping distance at a speed of 100 km / h, which we measured before as 49 m in the 1.4 liter ABS-free version and 44 meters in the 1.6-liter ABS version, as 45 meters at 1.6 16V without ABS. Considering that our test vehicle is Roland Garros, it is really surprising that ABS is not even offered as an option. With the new engine, 206 provides a quieter ride than the old eight-valve engine. The noise level, which we measured as 67 dB (A) in fourth gear at 100 km / h, was 69 dB (A) in the old version. If it was 130 km / h in fifth gear, we obtained 68 dB (A) of data, which is much more successful than the eight valve version of 72 dB (A).
