I am using 5w30 oil. I will change it tomorrow. There is a decrease in oil consumption. I want to use thick oil now. 308 1.6Vti engine km 122,000. Which oil should I use to prevent the decrease? Mehmet Furkan2023-12-11 23:21:45

Hello, absolutely do not use any oil with a viscosity lower than 5w30; it is very important that it is fully synthetic. I used a 1.6 VTI 308 for two years and 65,000 km. I have tried several brands of oil. Oils like Castrol Total, which cause more loss of fuel, especially at high speeds, are not good for this engine. This is because their oil vaporization temperature is low, causing loss. I recommend choosing quality engine oils like Motul and Liqui Moly. Additionally, buy 4 liters of the same brand of oil and top up as the fuel consumption decreases. I minimized this with Motul oil. Of course, this did not happen the first time. Unfortunately, after three maintenance visits, I observed a consumption of 1-1.5 liters per 10,000 km. Of course, before proceeding with this, I used Engine Flush before the oil change and then changed the engine oil. I recommend not waiting 10,000 km for oil maintenance and recommend changing the spark plugs every three maintenance visits. This oil consumption phenomenon is prevalent in many new vehicles today, whether diesel or gasoline. It even occurs in WV diesel and gasoline models. The important thing is for us users to check our engine coolant and oil levels every three to four days.
