This kind of LEDs are the elements we call flux LEDs, 4 legs are legs, 2 legs are parallel, so think again as 2 legs. Since the leds are 3 volts, 4 series are connected to complete 12 volts (when one bursts, if you contact it or if you connect the +/- pole in reverse, 4 of them will go out at once). more severity.
