key left

hi friends I'm new to the forum. I bought the car a few months ago. My car is 2001 model 206 xr 1.4 gasoline. I inserted the key to start the car today, I pressed the starter key, I felt like the key was halfway, and the key did not force when starting the key. he would normally have to force it up while turning it up. then I stopped the engine and took the key off and put it back in. And now the key is left in it. I put the car in the garden and left it on the key.
