Hello, I'm a 2004 owner of a 406 2.0 HDi automatic. Even though it was 16-17 degrees Celsius outside, when I got to work and parked the car, the Ice ALERT alert went off, and the temperature started reading -4. What causes this problem? A few friends were saying that if this problem occurs, the AC won't work either. I've had a lot of trouble with the air conditioning this summer, and I'm having it fixed, and a month later, the compressor wouldn't start again. Could there be a connection?

Hello sir, it may be possible. There is a sensor under the right mirror that measures the outside air temperature. It is defective and you probably need to replace it.

So, can I tell if this sensor is on the right or left without disassembling it by looking at it myself?

There is a small protrusion under the right rearview mirror, sir. Part number 5
