Getting Up in High Gear

Hello friends. While driving my car while getting up in a red light today, I put it in third gear instead of thoughtfully. The car stopped shaking. I tried to get up and running in the same gear again without understanding what happened, but when I stopped again I noticed that I was in the wrong gear. When I got up with the right gear, a smell similar to lining came from my vehicle. What do you think is this fragrance, is it possible that I have damaged the vehicle?
