gear problem

Hello to everyone. my car is 206 xline. 2005 model. The gear of the vehicle has become very hard for the last 1 month. At first I was just having trouble shifting to 3rd gear. now I have a hard time shifting to all gears. As it shifts into gear, there are loud noise coming from under the gear lever. what do you think is the problem? I'm waiting for your help.
