Dynamometer - Modification and Tuning Information

The dynamometer is the device used to measure the output force of a rotating machine. The dynamometer (or force meter) is most often used to measure the horsepower of an electric motor or an automobile engine. The product of the angular velocity and the torsional force (moment) applied to the rotating part gives the force. The most widely used force-measuring dynamometers consist of a flexible metal ring. When a force is loaded to compress this ring, the ring is twisted and the force is measured according to the amount of torsion.
