Differences Between 8 Valves and 16 Valves. Illustrated

Friends Many of us Couldn't Understand the Valve Difference of a Kind As a Result of My Long-Term Research I Could Have Reached This Information.

16 Valve

8 Valve


8 VALVE = "Old" System with Single Single Camshaft (SOHC = Single Over Head Camshaft) with 1 Intake and 1 Exhaust Valve per cylinder.
4 x 2 = 8 valves in a 4 cylinder engine

16 VALVE = "New" system with Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC = Double Over Head Camshaft) with 2 Intake and 2 Exhaust Valves per cylinder.
4 x 4 = 16 valves in a 4 cylinder engine

As the number of valves increases, the performance and fuel consumption of the engine reach more desired values, since the air / fuel mixture fed to the cylinders and exhaust gas discharged from the cylinders are more ways to dispatch and discharge. However, some automobile factories still continue to produce "old" system engines because producing these engines appeals to those who seek cheaper and higher performance, but it cannot always be said that they burn less.
