The main reason for this situation is that the part called the damper wedge or intermediate bearing wedge at the top of the dust bellows of the 307s is really wedge, and when there is too much load on the back, this turmer is unable to do the job when the working distance remains that it cannot absorb the shock / shock. Instead, friends with C4 used the opel astra shock absorber chock. There are pictures of the work done below; Below are pictures of wedges used in the study for C4 .... ![]() ![]() pictures of the process done here .. ![]() ![]() I used the vectra b chassis shock absorber wedge because friends could not find the same (yellow color) used above, as its picture shows, the price is 16TL: ![]() After sticking the pieces nicely with a good quality sealant (you can get them in painters in the industry, around 10TL), there are shrinking tubes after they heat up. I made a sheath with them by heating them with a purl. ![]() ![]() As a result, I can say that it is very successful. If there is already a spare parts nearby, go check it out personally and there are mountains difference between vectra wedge and 307 wedge. opel chock is quite flexible. I am of the opinion that it is only a little longer (3 cm) but because the end is hollow, it does not hurt much. I hope it works well for you, stay well ... |

I did not understand the event, when I bought the makeup 307, I fixed it in the place of the shock absorbers not with the shifted silicone, but I don't feel that it was possible that those groats would make a sound. The rubber grommets that you added were not a different piece.
I couldn't understand the event, when I bought the makeup 307, I fixed it in place with the shifted silicone instead of the shock absorbers, but I didn't feel that the groats were likely to make sound. The rubber grommets that you added were not a different piece. [/ QUOTE] Actually, in the 307s, the dust bellows and the part called "intermediate bearing wedge" are seen as original in the kit. I have already stated that the problem in the original 307s (by the way, in fact, there were similar problems in many cars, but they did not crash :)). Since this chock is hard, when the load is placed on it or when the shock absorber working distance is not enough, the whole shock is distributed to the chassis of the vehicle. Opel intermediate bearing block is quite flexible. The fiesta wedge was also on my mind, but since the man I was in at the moment is not a smart spare part, I did not have the opportunity to see it personally and I said I would not risk. If there is a possibility, if we examine, compare and write an answer here, we will follow a healthier and professional way to solve this issue. Stay safe ...

I am uncomfortable with this problem in my own 307. I replaced the rear shock absorbers 2 years ago, but it hadn't improved. I wonder what it would cost if we do this application |

It is positive to prevent sound. But you said Opel's wedge a little longer. Have you had the opportunity to compare the two side by side? Because if it is too long, I thought that the suspension may decrease the working stork and cause trouble in holding and comfort. If they were going to do the application, it would be great if they could shorten their shock absorbers with two wedges and measure the lengths :) And with the partial renewal at 99, the swing was reduced by hardening the rear suspension in Vectras (also called the B2 case). Of course, I do not know if this wedge has been changed. I wanted to ask if you have any information so that I could investigate the same piece you used.
I'm also disturbed by this problem in my own 307. I replaced the rear shock absorbers 2 years ago, but it hadn't improved. I wonder what it would cost if we do this application [/ QUOTE] dear "islander"; Before I made this application, my shock absorber pads and bellows had been pretty bad. Frankly, I wasted a bit of trial and error. Fortunately, a pair of original 307 shock absorber blocks 50 TL (of 25), and a pair of vectra b chassis shock absorber blocks 32 TL. I do not know the price of the macaroon, our beechin had in the shop cut a few pieces of them, but I do not think it will be anything expensive. Sealant had kept 10TL. As you can see, the problem has been solved for approximately 100TL. But since the dust bellows of your shock absorber is intact, it will be enough to buy only vectra wedge. If your hand is prone, you can do the workmanship very easily. Because we do it ourselves, I do not know how much workmanship costs. In addition, since there are no wedges and sets that enable the dust bellows to hold on the buckle, you stick it with mastic which may take a few hours to dry. Consider this.
Noise reduction is positive. But you said Opel's wedge a little longer. Have you had the opportunity to compare the two side by side? Of course, I do not know if this wedge has been changed. In order to investigate the same piece you used, I wanted to ask if you have any information. [/ QUOTE] Dear "eeccaa"; As I mentioned in my first message, I transferred this application from an application made on C4. The yellow wedges already in the first pictures are not my work and are a little different from those I use. In the study about C4, it was written that 2000 model and above astra-corsa wedges can be used. But I was able to find the black wedges that I just added to the picture, similar to the yellow wedges. It was written on the spare parts site that it covers models from 95-2003. Let me mention this wedges Rapro brand. The company wants the chassis number in the supply of the parts and sends the product accordingly, but I ordered it by stating that I want the same part on the web page. As you may say, there is a different revised wedge and it can be used. I couldn't take the comparative picture of the wedges because my phone is running out of charge, but if I knew it would be such an effective application, I would expect it to be charged :) For now, let me add the picture of the original 307 wedges, I will compensate for my mistake by adding a picture with the wedges on the car tomorrow :) It seems to be 3 cm longer in length. also hard. In terms of oscillation and working distance, I hesitated first, and even thought to cut the part of the intermediate bearing block into the upper wedge (where we tried to attach the old wedge with silicon) but I think the vehicle can tolerate this distance due to the elastic ability of the wedge. If you think that the aim of these wedges is to minimize the transfer of the shock to the chassis, especially when the load is placed on the back of the vehicle, especially if the shock absorber cannot compensate due to the structural and operating distance is short (that is, the car that will collapse when the load increases at the rear). If we talk about the example; Suppose that 2 or 3 babies sit behind your car and there is a distance of 3 cm that your shock absorber can work. When you enter a smallest chapel, the shock absorber that hits the old wedges hits the bottom as blunt and you leave this shock, you feel the car all over your body :) The car also has the pain of your inside :) If we look at the event in terms of insufficient working distance, we will see anyone behind our 307s with the old wedges. we shouldn't be overlapping anyway. Therefore, I think that at least the user cannot feel seriously that it does not affect the handling. Of course, if friends who are experts in the subject share what they know about this, we can prevent a written practice or disaster. Until then, be peaceful and peace of mind. original 307 wedge: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Dear "ByHack" Thank you for your detailed answer. This sound was troubling at first. But then I got used to it. I started not wearing it. Already more than 3 people are getting into the car very rarely. But if a repair to the rear suspension is required, I will consider doing your application under this excuse. If 1995-2003 is written on the Vectra B wedge, it means that no part change has occurred. It is already moving to Vectra C in 2003. Since the length is also tolerated with its softness, Vectra B chock application seems to be in place since there is no problem in your vehicle. Goodbye, thank you again.

Does this piece sound like "LAKIR LUKUR"? I have a lacquer in my car as if a piece of plastic is hitting somewhere slightly. "UNDER THE HOOD" in the engine Whatever plastic material is, the fuse box battery box, air filter box, etc. are all cleared from the beginning. I wonder if we couldn't find the sound, could these parts be? What kind of sound are these wedges?

Friends, it has been a long time since I made this application. As a result of the transaction; 1- The fact that the original intermediate bearing chock, which has very weak elasticity, and the dust bellows to which it is attached is mounted on the shock absorber upper chock, was cut off from the ground and the loker was making a loud sound. 2- I said goodbye to the "pat-cut" sounds coming from the back when you fall into the smallest chapel or pit, or when you enter the stabilized, rough road due to the short running distance of the shock absorber and the suspensions are not independent, especially when there is a load on the back seat of the passenger or luggage. The main purpose of the study is the subject I have already mentioned in article 2. The original intermediate bed chocks of the 307s are very, very hard. It transfers the shock that it has to absorb directly into the chassis of the vehicle, which negatively affects driving comfort. For the vehicle; I have not seen any difficulties in driving ability, swing, road holding etc. I do not think I will see it. I believe that if there is a need for trouble, old wedges that fall out are a bigger problem. When you do this application, do not expect the comfort especially in old-style sedan german cars, but you can get comfort in current hatchback cars. Although the torsion bar system seems advantageous for reasons such as maintenance, labor and spare parts costs in the long term; I would like to add that the majority of hatchback sports cars have a torsion bar system, especially with the cost anxiety , and that this type of vehicle makes the pits feel more than the independent suspension. So in other hb cars, this is also the case. ![]() Anyway, if you are going to pack it up, you can make this system to your own vehicle with peace of mind, tested, approved and

But there is a logic that the intermediate wedge used for fabrication should be hard.

I have siliconized these wedges, it is very nice, I have no complaints about the suspension system. The application is beautiful and it is a one-to-one solution for those who have such complaints. The expression is super. I wish you healthy driving pleasure.
