Hello friends, I had just driven 2-3 km yesterday. It was in stationary traffic, but it had only been 10 minutes since I started the car. While driving 2-3 km away, the green light came on, and just as I was starting to drive, I heard a sound. The sound seemed to be coming from quite a distance. At first, I thought there was an asphalt drill somewhere nearby. A knock, knock, knock sound. After going 30 meters, I realized the sound was traveling with me. And when I pressed the clutch, it stopped. I realized it was coming from us. I thought it was probably the transmission, but my friend said it couldn't be the bearing noise, and then the sound stopped. When I watched the camera footage later, it was definitely coming from us, but I wanted to check with you whether it could have been the bearing winding sound. The sound didn't come back after that. We continued for another 10 km, and at times I reached 100 km/h. I parked the car and left it there, and there's no noise right now. If there was a knocking noise, wouldn't it be continuous? Is the knocking noise something that stops after a while? I asked the mechanic if the oil pump needed replacing because the car had 200,000 miles on it, and he said, "If the pressure drops, the car will turn on its lights anyway." Then it's unnecessary to replace it. Now I'm thinking there might be a momentary drop in pressure from the oil pump. I'll take it to the mechanic when I have the time, but I wanted to get your opinion first. Thanks. 1.4 HDi diesel, 200,000 km, 2007 model.
