| The vehicle first turned on the engine fault lamp on a rainy day and said, “engine failure; Have the vehicle repaired”. There was a tremor when I started the engine; but when it got hot, I didn't have any problems starting the car. When I took it in for service the spark plugs were changed. The problem did not recur for a month and a half. But I don't know if it's a coincidence, one evening while I was driving, the same fault lamp came on again. The vehicle did not get gas while the lamp was flashing. When you pull to the right and turn it off and on, the malfunction lamp became stable, the vehicle took gas and returned to normal. Then, the flashing event repeated a few more times on the road, and we threw ourselves to the authorized service in Adana by turning it on and off. It turned out to be "ignition error". They said no problem, temporary breakdown and continue with peace of mind. But the next day we had the same problem again on the road.  The authorized service that changed the spark plugs in Istanbul called this evening, there is no problem, but there is a compression loss in the engine. If they repeat, they said that the engine may need to be replaced, it may cost like 100 thousand TL.  Can there be a compression loss in a 2020 model 45k km vehicle, I can't quite understand what the problem is. The option to replace the engine makes no sense. If there is something that will require engine replacement, the service sends you why it is okay for now; Is everything inconsistent? What could be the reason for such a problem, what could be the solution, I am waiting for your help and opinion.  | |

Hello. I saw your question when I received the email. Our process went as follows. We took the car to an authorized service center. They performed something like an engine update. We were told that if it happened again, the engine would need to be replaced. A day or two later, the light came on again. This time, they inspected the car for a few days and told me that an engine replacement was necessary. They charged me around 100,000 TL. I argued that since the car's warranty had expired five months ago, all maintenance had been completed on time at the service center, and it had only covered 40,000 km, I wouldn't pay the fee and that there was a hidden defect in the car. I then called Peugeot Stalantis customer service and requested a replacement under warranty. Otherwise, I would file a lawsuit in consumer court for a similar replacement. They initially told me they would charge me 40,000 TL. I refused. I immediately filed a notice of claim with the Peugeot Stalantis headquarters. Customer service then began to follow up on the process thoroughly. The car remained at the service center for about 15 days. During this time, the legal department also contacted me. Finally, the company agreed to replace the engine at no cost to me and, after inspecting the vehicle, to cover the warranty. Their acceptance was due to the low mileage, all maintenance performed on time and at an authorized service center, no accidents, and the short time since the warranty expired. Of course, I can't say I'll insist on exercising my legal rights. The vehicle's engine was replaced quickly, and they completed the TSE approval process after the engine replacement. They also obtained my license, gave me power of attorney, and took the vehicle back with a brand-new engine, free of charge. I've been using it since February without any problems.
