Tire size and rim tire size calculation

One of the numerical values that are standard for all manufacturers is tire sizes. We all know the values by heart like 225/40/17, but we cannot explain what they mean.
By giving an exemplary value, let's move on to our expression.

195-55-15:

Base Size:
It is the surface on which the tire comes into contact with the ground. It is indicated by numerical values between 55-365 (exceptions are of course). The unit of this measure is MM. That is, a 195mm surface of a 195-based tire is in constant contact with the ground.

Cheek:
In the example, it is the value that gives information about the profile of the tire, which is indicated with 55. This is a ratio, which is essentially a ratio of the base size over% 55. The sidewall means that there are 55% sidewall size of the tire.

Rim Size :
It is the size of the rim that can be used on the tire, it is stated that it is for the size of 15`` rim in the sample. It is not possible to use the rim other than given in the tire size, because in the automobile sector there are rim dimensions of 12``-22`` and in SUVs there are rim dimensions up to 30``.

When you want to change your tire and rim dimensions, you can find the least different sizes using the calculators below.

Even if the turning diameter does not change, the rim tire modification to be made because the base will become thicker, the vehicle performance and fuel consumption will be negatively affected even if the tire modification is to a certain extent.
Let's not forget that.
Thanks for sharing.
