FAULT SEARCH IN THE FIRST CIRCUIT OF IGNITION

Suppose the battery and starter are normal, gasoline is coming up to the carburetor, but the engine still does not work. In this case, the fault is anywhere in the ignition circuit. It is useful to visually check the wiring connections and the parts of the ignition circuit for any broken or broken parts before starting to search for the location of the fault. In the ignition circuit, it is best to start troubleshooting from the first circuit. Because malfunctions usually happen in this circuit.

First, the distributor cap is removed and a piece of cardboard is placed between the sinkers. After the ignition switch is turned on, it is checked whether the current flows to the distributor inlet end with a control lamp (vehicle's lighting lamp) or voltmeter.

If there is no current here, the fault is either on the ignition key side or there is a short circuit inside the capacitor. To understand this, the screw connecting the capacitor body is removed and the enclosure part is kept in the space while current control is done again at the end. In this case, if current is coming to the distributor, the fault is in the capacitor, it is replaced with a new one. If there is no current, the capacitor is intact. All connections to the ignition key are checked until current is found. The first cable and connection from the current location to the distributor side are defective, replaced or cleaned.

In some cases, the distributor will light when the lamp is touched on the current inlet end. In this case, the fault is within the distributor, especially in sinkers. The cardboard between the sinkers is removed, the engine is turned slightly and the sinkers are closed well. With the ignition on, the current is checked at the distributor. If the lamp burns, the sinkers are faulty. It is replaced with a new one. When obliged, the engine can be operated by inserting and moving the sandpaper or the pharmacy face of the matchbox between the sinkers or by engraving the screwdriver tip with the screwdriver tip. However, after cleaning above, it is not correct to make platinum adjustments using feeler. In this case, a temporary adjustment can be made by placing it between the sinkers, which can be 0.020 "(4 layers of newspaper paper). However, it is best to correct or change the sinkers at the first opportunity.

If there is still no fault in the search so far, it will be necessary to search the fault on the second circuit.

Platinum setting; it regulates the cam angle (the sinking time of the sinkers). If this angle is large, it causes the coil to heat up, and that it is small causes the coil to not give the required tension.
