Good evening everyone. I own a 2022 Peugeot 308. I love the car and am generally very happy with it, but something strange happened to me today. When I went to pick up my mother, I stopped the car (turned off the engine) and waited inside. Later, when my mother arrived, when I pressed the start-stop button to start the car, the car first gave me a warning saying "engine fault, stop the car, have the car repaired." I saw the warning, turned the car off and on again, thinking it would go away once I started it. However, as soon as I started the car, it started beeping on the screen with all the possible errors I could see, such as engine fault, ASR-ESP fault, gearbox fault, and battery fault. The engine also stuttered strangely, as if it had no power at all. Frankly, I was quite shocked, so I stopped the car, got out, locked the doors, and waited. After waiting for about 5-6 minutes, I restarted the car and managed to drive home without any errors. The only thing I noticed was that, even though it hadn't displayed any malfunction warnings, the ASR-ESP warning light remained on. The car has only 15,000 km on it, and I had its annual service done at the dealership just a month ago. I'm wondering why this error might be occurring, and whether these are permanent issues. If anyone has experienced this before and has any knowledge of the issue and can provide an answer, I'd be very grateful.

Start-Stop intervenes directly in the engine. Let's imagine you stopped with your foot on the brake. >> It stops the engine. You took your foot off the brake, or opened the door, or unfastened your seat belt, or moved the steering wheel. >> It turns on the engine and starts it up. Such a system does this with a completely electronic chip set. Let's imagine you're using a computer and suddenly you get an error message, similar to this. Regarding the "engine fault" warning, the fact that it gives this warning doesn't mean there's a serious error. The manual states that a visual check is final and definitive. What can be done: You can choose not to use Start-Stop. Having your 30,000 and 40,000 maintenance done at a Peugeot authorized service will provide additional assurance. Afterwards, you can continue to listen to your vehicle and have regular maintenance done. Safe driving and happy forums.
