Doesn't the vehicle have anything like the owner's manual or booklet? Did the previous owner throw away the documents of the vehicle?

308 gasoline vehicles have a chain instead of a timing belt, so there is no need for timing change.
As for the maintenance periods, since the engine manufacturer is BMW, some oil is reduced due to the machine structure, so make it using a 5/30 full synthetic oil at 10000 km.

Thank you very much, by the way, I did not know that the engine was produced by bmw, which was very useful.

The last maintenance of my vehicle was 8000 km. When I started it up, oil was writing ok, but now the oil --- level mark appears. Do I need to add oil?

The best control is done from the dipstick after waiting for a while on a flat surface. Control from the indicator can be misleading. Therefore, carry out the check as I mentioned on the dipstick. As far as I know, the maintenance period of gasoline vehicles may be a little longer, but if you see that the oil is reduced significantly from the dipstick at 8 thousand km, you may need to show your vehicle to a workshop. Get well soon.

both advantage and disadvantage.
There is no risk of rupture. In belt systems, this risk belt exists even if you have just changed it. because you take it as an original sub-industry. Therefore, nobody runs cheaply about tirger.
the disadvantage is as follows; replacement cost is high.
the chain itself is around 500-600 rubles. and it is more difficult to disassemble than the normal belt system.
plus workmanship fee for this hard work ...

This vehicle is not THP powered. The VTi engine is Peugeot's own engine. It is valid for THP engines.

So, from this statement, do we need to understand that the timing chain does not need to be changed?

My friend said it wrong, my teacher, the timing chain change 180000 km is 10 years. must be done. The reason is not a problem in the chain, but there are plastic parts that provide the chain tension, and these cause wear. This goes until the chain becomes empty and makes sound, even the sente setting is lost.
