The spare wheel jack of my 2006 model 307 SW broke down thanks to a colleague who was a tire repairman. I was told from a few repairmen I went that I should get a new one that cannot be repaired. As Research Price (Part Code: 6735.04) I saw that it was around 200 TL. I was put on hold because I haven't been out of town much nowadays. However, when the holidays and long roads appeared on the horizon, it was supposed to take it or have it repaired. Thinking I could fix it myself, I went to a friend of the lathe. and we started working, I write the following steps in terms of benefits for you. 1. In order to remove the frame around the jack control screw in the trunk, it is necessary to unscrew the 4 octagonal screws of the nickel-plated part that fixes the trunk carpet, and to remove the carpet, the frame clip should be separated from the jack. 2. Lying under the vehicle, 10 10 nuts that connect the jack body to the vehicle and 2 pieces of 10 nuts on the spare wheel holder were released by a star wrench. 3. The cover was opened by unscrewing 4 pieces of 8 corner screws on the main body of the jack. There are 3 main parts in it a) rope reel b) rope gear c) motion gear and sheet. There are 2 functions and 2 ropes here. 1 is the main winding rope and 1 is the rope that controls the locking mechanism. When you lift the cover inside the trunk to lower the spare wheel, the 2nd rope opens the lock in the spindle holder, allowing the spare wheel to lower itself. (Never use screws and arms to lower the spare wheel, it goes down automatically as you pull the cover fully upwards.) 4. The opening of the jack revealed that the winding rope came out of its bed and was deformed considerably and some wire was broken. It was necessary to change. There were 2 problems ahead of us 1. Finding the appropriate thickness of rope (2.5 mm) and attaching the second spare wheel to the new rope. Because the rope must be seamless from reel to stabilizer. 5. There was 2 or 3 mm rope in my research at industrial hardware stores. No 2.5mm rope. I said, the repair ends here. However, my lathe friend, Emrah, who watched me for about 3 hours, must have been upset that my rope and the bullets at the end were very similar to the motorcycle brake wires. I immediately went to a motorcycle part and took one end of the sheath from the rope with a leaded end and a spring mechanism. I also bought it from the round rope terminators on the recommendation of the particle friend. Bingo rope is 2.5 mm thick. In the meantime, we realized that we can handle the number 2 wall while solving the rope problem. 6. We cut the spring part of the new rope I bought and removed the rope inside. It is about 1.20 meters long. It is more than enough for us. We cut the end piece from the zero part at the end of the old rope, where the rope was connected by riveting. My friend Emrah made a hole in the lathe right in the middle of the part with a 3 mm pencil. he then made a slot with a 6.5 mm pencil on his lower end. The lead stabilizer found at the end of the rope I just bought fell into place, with a little filing of the stone. So now we could move on to the tidying up of the rope. 7. There was only one problem to be overcome. The room is how much the new still will be. After making some measurements, we saw that the rope should be 31 cm in total, including the tip, from the spare wheel stabilizer. Considering this, we brought the rope through the channels again to the rope reel. I fixed the rope to the reel by using the round screw terminator I bought with the advice of the Burda Motorcycle parts dealer and checking the rope clearance of 31 cm again. 8. Then, I closed the box with the gear on the bottom and the reel on top, and mounted it on the vehicle. In our experiment, the rope was solid and fulfilling its function. We were happy, we said 2 teas to ourselves. As a result, I was angry because I didn't take pictures of myself and had to write so much. In order to pass these stages, I changed 3 ropes 4 times and had to disassemble and install the mechanism completely. But in the end, we repaired and managed to run it. How happy I can be if we can benefit friends. Respects
