I have a Peugeot 307 SW Pack 2003 Model 1.6 Gasoline vehicle. I have received 10.000 maintenance two times since I bought the vehicle. I had one of the maintenance done at the authorized service and the other at the private service opened by a master leaving the authorized service. In both treatments, modor oil changed. "CASTROL MAGTATEC 10W / 40 Gasoline Engine Oil" was used as oil. I mentioned to a quality engine master that I went on the recommendation due to a simple malfunction of the vehicle, especially in cold weather, when the engine warmed up for 10-15 minutes during the first start up, the vehicle sounded like a diesel engine and I was uncomfortable with this sound. "I will use MOBILE 5W / 30 engine oil for the next 10,000 maintenance so that the maintenance period will be 15,000 km, there will be no sound in the morning, and there will be a decrease in fuel and an increase in performance," said the master. 10W / 40 engine oil recommended for 307 1.6 gasoline in my researches. However, the master's remark is also remarkable. So I am thinking of using Castrol EDGE 5W30 in the next maintenance .
Do you think it would be appropriate? Anyone using 5W / 30? What is your advice?
