hi friends car 2002 model 1.6 xt. Last year I emptied and cleaned the catalytic convector, but I did not fill it because they wanted a lot of money to fill it. In 1 year, the engine started to work a little loudly, and it sounds as if there was no oil. Is it a situation caused by the catalytic convector being empty. Also, what is the harm of the convector empty, and what can I say from the tin tin (come with engine oil)?

The purpose of the catalatic convector allows it to filter harmful exhaust gases released to the nature to a certain extent. it can get a sound of exhaust crashing somewhere. or a piece of metal may be broken or loose.

The absence of a clitic converter will certainly cause a lot of burns in vehicles with euro 4 and above (with double oxygen sensors). but as of 2002, I do not think it will have a lot of effect on fuel in cases with euro 2 norms, ie single oxygen sensors. but traction may be likely to drop again.
