2004 model 1.4 HDI 307 min maintenance has come 190,000 km, thank you. I used Castrol Edge 5W-30, which oil do you think should be used in the previous one ??? Dralp 2016-12-06 15:30:33

I recommend you to put 10w / 40 or 5w / 40 castrol or mobil with semi-synthetic oil, which is both km high and a temperate climate. The oil you put in the previous care is fully synthetic. 10w / 40 and 5w / 40 oil augmentation you will observe less because it is a bit thicker. I put 5w / 40 first, if the reduction is still high, I recommend you switch to 10w / 40 oil. sonerkyl 2016-12-06 16:18:59

I think I will try 10w / 40 ... Only Castrol's petrol has A3 / B4, while the diesel only has B4. Is it the same thing?

actually a3 / b4 is suitable for both gasoline and diesel vehicles. Writing b4 is only recommended for diesel vehicles.

Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 A3 / B4 is suitable for use in all gasoline vehicles and diesel vehicles with intercoolers or turbochargers, where vehicle manufacturers recommend the ACEA A3 / B4 or API SL / CF specifications.

Then there is no problem ...
ACEA Levels:

Gasoline engine oils

A1: Low friction, high viscosity

A2: General purpose

A3: High performance and / or long replacement period

A4: GDI gasoline engines

A5: Low viscosity and friction, long oil change

LIGHT SERVICE DIESEL ENGINE OILS:

B1: Low friction, low viscosity

B2: General purpose, indirect injection

B3: High performance and / or long replacement period, indirect injection

B4: High performance and / or long replacement period, indirect and direct injection, fuel economy

B5: High performance and / or long replacement period, indirect and direct injection, fuel economy

I would say Castrol edge, I don't say anything else, that's my idea.
Also, your previous oil is the same.

I would like to say as additional information that
If changing to different brands in oil change will be made, vacuum drive must be removed from the engine as long as the previous oil is possible.
Since there are viscosity differences according to the brand and purpose of use, it is likely that the new oil will lose performance and lose its properties.
I used to say that you do not put new oil completely out of the way.
Pleasant driving.
