206 GTI Starting hard

In my 2000 model 2.0 GTI LPG vehicle, I get a starter in three or four attempts. The idle fluctuates and the car accelerates by itself, as if the accelerator pedal is stuck. I would appreciate if you could let me know what could be the cause.
