French automotive manufacturer Peugeot-Citroen recalls 100 thousand vehicles in Europe. Peugeot-Citroen, the largest automotive company in France, has announced that the Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 models produced in the same factory as Toyota in the Czech Republic have recalled 100 thousand vehicles for `` preventive purposes '' due to the problem in the gas pedals. Spokesperson for the company, Jean-Marc Sarret, said that these models were not available for any accident or safety issues associated with throttle pedals, produced in the factory in Kolin, Czech Republic where Toyota and the management partnered halfway. Sarret stated that the owners of these two vehicles produced in mid-2005 and mid-2009 will be notified via e-mail, and the decision to recall affects approximately 10 percent of the company's circulating vehicles.
At the factory in Kolin, 330,000 vehicles are produced annually, two-thirds of which are French companies and the rest are to Toyota. The number of vehicles recalled by the world's largest automotive company Toyota in the continent of America, Europe and Asia due to the problem with the gas pedal exceeded 7 million. |
