1. Gear failure - 407 - Peugeot Forum

Hello. My vehicle is 407 2.0 HDI 6 speed manual transmission.

For a long time, the gear lever was moving back and forth according to the incoming power in 1st gear (I think a little bit in 6th gear). For the last month, when I brake the engine in 1st gear (while power is being transmitted from the wheel to the engine), it throws it away with a knocking sound. (If I brake the engine with a slight force, there is a screeching sound because it cannot go completely to neutral).

In the last few days, 1st gear can go into neutral without pulling the gas, even on very slopes or sudden acceleration.

Does anyone have any information about the malfunction?
