Hello there.
I would like to explain the timing chain event I have encountered in other forums as far as I know:
some said: I hear silly things like "this engine is diesel, there is a chain timing, you don't need to handle 200 thousand km".

If you want to find out if a "HDI" engine has a chain or belt, go to a particle with your chassis number and see if there is an eccentric chain.
Amaaaaa, the question is whether there is a timing belt or not.

because when I looked at the parts price and details of my 90hp 1.6 hdi from servicebox.com, I noticed that the car had a timing belt and set, but a chain was rotated inside the two camshafts.

In other words, while the timing belt rotates a gear outside the block, there is a chain in the block that transfers this movement to two camshafts.

How is the situation in 110-degree hdi motors, let those who know under this heading share.
Let's fix if there is wrong information ...

I mean, let's not say that there is a chain and no strap. No, let's not take the engine into our arms when the timing belt you think is broken. Wink

In HDi engines, a trigger change is approved at 120 km.

HDI engine timing change period in normal conditions in 10 years 240,000 km, 180,000 km for 10 years in harsh conditions, vehicle chassis number you assign to your e-mail from Peugeot Turkey's communications department information they give back within 48 hours. The timing belt is missing from peugeot's THP engines. Available in all HDI engines.

When I bought my previous 307 sw, the timing belt filled 50 thousand km for 7 years. There were capillary cracks all over when I changed them.
I changed the timing belt of my current vehicle when it filled 90 thousand for 8 years.
rubber has a certain life, we all know. Our tires contain capillary cracks before their 5th year.
I personally cannot believe that it will fill 180 thousand km. Especially I don't mind 10 years.

You are late for your previous vehicle, sir, 5 years timing change in gasoline, I changed the timing of my 206 1.4 HDI vehicle in 9 years 117.000 km. This information is not the information I hear from right to left, but the information that I communicate and receive through the official website of my peugeot and my peugeot.

This is My peugeot maintenance plan.

My recommendation for 5 years or 120 thousand km but 90 thousand km

the timing belt changes in 90 thousand or 5 years, it should be changed, it is recommended, the chain is in the block and there is no change period unless it indicates a failure. if it makes a sound, change is required. With the quality and regular oil change, damage to the chain is eliminated.
