I have been using my 2006 model 307 sw 1.6 HDI for 4 years. I have always used 5/40 oil so far, but when I select oil like on the mobile or castrol site, it is recommended to choose 0/40 or 5/30 or even 0/30 oil. Which oil should I choose?

Sir, if you have used 5w40 oil for 4 years, I can recommend you to continue, but it can be mobil 1 ow40 depending on your location and the mileage of your vehicle. Sercan Mungan 2015-11-17 21:24:24

Hello ;

What is the reason of putting 10w40 oil on old vehicles, hodja?

Due to the wear of the engine over time (depending on usage), oil reduction is more in fine oils. 5w30 - 5w40 - 0w30 etc. For example, when you add 5w30 oil, 10000 km decreases 1 liter of oil, while 10w400 oil is added, 0.5 lt. It will decrease. these are rough numbers I say.
